When parents head off to the store to do their shopping they usually have only what they need to get on their mind. Most place their child in the shopping cart so they cannot wander off and get lost. This may make it easier to keep an eye on them when you do not have a child locator device but it does put them in danger of getting hurt in a shopping cart accident. Every year over 20,000 kids get hurt on or around shopping carts since these baskets are designed primarily to hold food, not children. While it is ok to sit your child in the seat of the basket a parent should stay next to them at all times to ensure they do not fall out.
